With The Pressure Project & Dive Spear and Sport @ 1770, you’ll explore the untouched reef that lies between Lady Musgrave Island in the South and Heron Island in the North, offering some of the most pristine reefs in the entire Great Barrier Reef system. With its remarkable biodiversity, stunning underwater landscapes, and easy access from the charming town of 1770, you’ll witness awe-inspiring moments encountering magnificent creatures like Humpback Whales, Manta Rays, and sea turtles in their natural habitats.
You will bear witness to magical encounters and take in the vibrant colours of some of the most spectacular reefs. In the slightly cooler waters of the Southern GBR, you’ll discover unique coral species, located in the Southern regions. The Southern GBR is truly unique in every way, and you’re invited to come see why! Escape the city’s hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in the true essence of Queensland, uncovering local secrets and experiencing the tranquillity of the reef and national parks that will create cherished memories, making you feel like a true insider.
If you are completing your course, or depth training, our experienced instructors are on hand to guide you through the learning process so you can develop the skills and confidence necessary to push your limits and explore the underwater world in a whole new way.

Yes, we highly recommend you take sea sickness tablets 30 minutes before departing land. As freedivers, we are looking down watching our divers from the surface so seasickness is very common and extremely unpleasant. It can also be dangerous as dehydration can occur. Please speak with your doctor if you require advice and have any concerns.
If we are unable to dive in the ocean, you are able to book on the next available (no charge).
No we do not provide refunds if you change your mind, however we do allow you to change dates, or put that amount towards your next day in the ocean or a retreat.
We meet at Dive Spear and Sport’s new state-of-the-art centre, located centrally in Agnes Water / Town of 1770 before heading down to 1770 Marina to board our brand new custom built vessel and jet out at a comfortable 30 knots out to the reef. Approximately 90 minutes to travel out to the reef (depending on the reef of choice and conditions on the day), enjoy a stunning journey out before approaching the UNESCO world heritage listed Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy your dive sessions under the guidance of your experienced instructor, and an onboard lunch before heading back to the town of 1770 for some sunset drinks to celebrate your brand new freediving certification!
We used Adam for our National Kawasaki Dealers Conference for our keynote speaker. His presentation was informative, gave us real world strategies to deal with stress and anxiety, yet was also hilarious. We will definitely look to use Adam in the future.
I worked with Adam and The Pressure Project, through one of the most turbulent times in my life. Freediving and the principles that come with diving deep on one breath has set me on a new course, one that will help me live a more present and peaceful life both through my cricketing career and beyond. Highly recommend Adam and his team.
I contracted Adam to work with my swimmers. His input has helped many of my squad not only deal with the pressure that comes with being an elite athlete but also everyday life for young men and women in this stressful world.
Adam Sellars’ course changed my life. The skills and techniques I now use help me achieve my best both in and out of the pool.
