Situated on the southernmost tip of the Great Barrier Reef, this pristine coral cay is home to an abundance of marine life, including sea turtles, manta rays, and a myriad of colourful fish species.

The crystal-clear waters surrounding the island offer ideal conditions for freediving, with excellent visibility and a depth range suitable for beginners and experienced divers alike.

PADI Freediving Materials and certification.

PADI Freediving Instructors and Island guides. 1 instructor per 4 divers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Medical – Yes, you will need to complete a medical form. Upon review, we may let you know you are required to also complete a valid 4005.1 AS Dive Medical prior to your course.
  • We suggest you pack as minimal as possible.
  • Dive gear: fins, wetsuit, snorkel, mask, weight belt and weights (hire gear costs below)
  • Medications: sunscreen, seasick tablets (for line diving), hydrolytes
  • Casual clothes, yoga clothes, warm jumpers for evening, sunscreen, hat, casual shoes, reef shoes, water bottle
  • All linen, pillows and towels are supplied
  • No individual item to exceed 15kg or 70cm x 40cm x 30cm. D 30cm (we do understand fins can be longer than this, it’s not normally an issue, but must stick to the weight)
  • In addition to the 15kg checked luggage allowance, small personal items totalling up to a maximum of 2kg are able to be carried on.
  • Soft bags are preferred.
  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended to cover unforeseen circumstances.
  • We strongly recommend a freediving wetsuit that is 5mm in thickness and has a hood.
  • Yes, we suggest packing your own weights. Otherwise weight Belt Hire is $75 for 5 day hire
  • You can hire gear from the dive store, but we strongly suggest you bring your own.

  • $20 wetsuit hire (long) per day
  • $14 wetsuit hire (short) per day
  • $75 weight belt hire for 5 day hire
  • Purchases on Island can be paid for by cash, EFTPOS or most major credit cards.
  • The plane departs from Hervey Bay and Bundaberg. For an extra cost, you can also fly from Redcliffe or Coolangatta.
  • If you are planning on parking at Hervey Bay or Bundaberg Airport, please check the airport websites for parking fees, which are payable on departure.
  • You can purchase wifi on the island, otherwise it is very likely you will not have reception for the duration of the trip – embrace the digital detox!
  • Breakfast and dinner is included, the Café menu is available on the island for lunch at your own expense. Filtered water, tea and a coffee station is available all day.
  • Eco Cabins – 4 to a room with shared bathroom facilities. We understand some people would prefer a private room with their travelling partner at an extra cost, however it is quite difficult to accommodate this. Please contact us if you would like to speak to us about this.
  • Yes! You are welcome to come on the retreat, and sit out of any of our diving requirement sessions, or use those sessions to practise.
