Requirements for Participation

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants, the following requirements must be met before joining our tours:

Age Requirements

  • Snorkeling: Participants must be at least 10 years old to join our tours and must be accompanied by an adult (guardian) if under 18.
  • Freediving: Age requirements differ for our freedive courses. Please check the requirements before booking courses.
    • One & Two Day Courses | 12 years or older
    • Master Course | 18 years or older

All participants are required to be strong swimmers even though accompanied by a guardian.

Medical Requirements

  • All participants are required to complete a medical form for all tours. Depending on the responses in your medical form, you may be required to obtain a doctor’s clearance before participating.
  • If you have pre-existing medical conditions, are pregnant, taking prescription medications, or have suffered any recent injuries or illnesses, please contact us before booking. Certain medical conditions may prevent participation.
  • You must affirm that you are not currently experiencing:
    • A history of seizures, dizziness, or fainting.
    • A flu or ear infection.
    • Cardiovascular issues, such as heart conditions or angina.
    • Respiratory issues, including asthma, emphysema, or tuberculosis.

Eligibility

  • All participants must complete a liability waiver and medical form prior to the tour.
  • Guests must be able to swim competently in open water. If you cannot swim, this tour will not be suitable for you. Please explore our other amazing activities instead. To participate, you must be able to swim:
    • 200 meter without equipment or
    • 300 meter using mask, snorkel, and fins.
  • Participants must understand that snorkeling, freediving, and similar activities can be physically demanding. You will need to:
    • Climb a ladder in open-sea conditions to get back into the boat.
    • Exert yourself physically, which may include swimming in varying ocean conditions.
  • Pregnant individuals cannot participate in this tour.
  • Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or heavy medication. For the “Sip & Snorkel” tour, any consumption of BYO alcoholic beverages must be consumed after any in-water snorkeling activities.

Accessibility

Unfortunately, our vessel is not wheelchair accessible at this time.

Onboard Conduct

For safety reasons, the following are not permitted on our vessel during our tours unless specified:

  • Alcohol (only our Snorkel & Sip tour allows BYO alcoholic beverages)
  • Weight belts (unless certified freediver)

Guests must listen to all safety briefings, follow instructions from staff, and seek clarification if unsure about any part of the brief. Failure to follow instructions may result in removal from the tour without refund.

Marine Life and Environment

We are passionate about preserving the beautiful marine environments we explore and the incredible wildlife we encounter. Please respect the following guidelines:

  • No Touching: Never touch or disturb marine life, coral, or any part of the ocean environment.
  • Leave It as You Found It: Do not take shells, coral, or anything else from the ocean.
  • No Rubbish: Take all rubbish with you and ensure nothing is left behind on the vessel or in the water.
  • Be Mindful: Avoid making loud noises, splashing or sudden movements that could disturb marine life.

By following these guidelines, you help us protect and preserve these incredible ecosystems for future generations to enjoy.

We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these requirements. These measures are in place to protect your safety, the safety of other guests, and the marine environment.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  1. Minimum Numbers & Weather Conditions
    • All tours and courses require minimum numbers to proceed. If numbers are not met, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer the option to reschedule or transfer your payment to another session.
    • Weather conditions offshore may differ from conditions on land. If unsafe weather or sea conditions arise, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the tour for safety reasons. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer the option to reschedule or transfer your payment to another session.
  2. Seasickness & Inability to Complete the Tour
    • Seasickness can occur even in calm conditions. If you are prone to seasickness, please take necessary precautions, such as anti-nausea medication.
    • No refunds or rescheduling will be provided if you are unable to complete the tour or activity due to seasickness or other personal circumstances.
  3. Cancellation By Customer
    We do not provide refunds if you change your mind after booking. However, you may:

    • Change your booking to a different date, subject to availability.
    • Transfer your payment toward another session or retreat in the future.
  4. Vessel & Technical Disruptions
    Our vessel is maintained to the highest safety standards. However, unforeseen technical issues may occur. In the event of a disruption that prevents the tour from proceeding, we will offer rescheduling or transfer of payment to a future session.
  5. No-Shows
    Failure to arrive at the designated meeting point on time without prior notification will be considered a no-show, and no rescheduling or refunds will be provided.
  6. Special Circumstances
    We understand that emergencies happen, if you are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible. While we cannot guarantee refunds, we will do our best to accommodate rescheduling where possible.
  7. Important Notes
    Please read our FAQs prior to booking to ensure you are aware of all requirements and expectations for the tour or course. By booking, you agree to these terms and conditions. Refunds will not be provided due to failure in meeting the above-referenced requirements for participation.

What To Bring

To ensure comfort and a smooth experience on our tours, please bring the following items:

  • Swimsuit: We recommend arriving in your swimsuit as you will receive your hired wetsuit shortly after check-in.
  • Towel & Change of Clothes: For after your tour.
  • Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is essential.
  • Sun Protection.
  • Snacks: Light snacks are permitted on board, but please avoid bringing large meals.
  • Personal Medications: Ensure you bring any necessary medications.
  • Waterproof Camera: A waterproof camera to capture ocean memories.

Gear Policy: Hire and Personal Equipment

Hire Equipment

  • All hired equipment, including masks, snorkels, fins, and wetsuits must remain on board the vessel at the end of the tour.
  • Any damage to hired equipment must be paid for by the guest. If the equipment is lost or returned in a damaged state, it will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of The Pressure Project. Charges will reflect the retail cost of replacement or repair cost.
  • Guests are required to inspect all hired equipment before departure to ensure it is functional and in good condition.

Personal Equipment

  • Any personal equipment you bring is your responsibility. The Pressure Project accepts no liability for loss, damage, or theft of personal items.
  • If personal gear is left behind, guests are responsible for picking it up or covering postage costs for its return.

Acknowledgement of Risks

Your safety is our top priority, but it is important to understand the inherent risks associated with snorkeling, freediving, and ocean-based activities. These activities may involve physically demanding conditions and could result in serious injury or, in rare cases, death.

Assumption of Risk

  • By participating in this tour, you acknowledge and assume all risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, that may arise during the program. These risks include, but are not limited to, injuries caused by heart attack, panic, hyperventilation, drowning, or marine life interactions.
  • You expressly release The Pressure Project, its guides, instructors, skippers, employees, and affiliated organisations from any liability or claim resulting from injury, loss, or damage during your participation.
