Take a deep dive on one breath to explore the depths of the ocean with Adam Sellars whose turn to freediving saved him in his darkest moments as seen on My Way 2023.

A Sunshine Coast father turned free-diver, Adam Sellars is proving that a battle with mental health is not a battle that needs to be walked alone, using his own experiences to help others walk the path to happiness.

Working in a corporate job, Adam found himself caught up in the culture, placing his value on how successful he was at work. While travelling for work, Adam found himself staring at an ad on a toilet door for a depression hotline, and the thought stayed with him on his journey home. Taking the plunge and admitting he needed help, Adam was diagnosed with depression by his doctor, and prescribed antidepressants.

After taking one, he knew that wasn’t for him, and sought another way to overcome his battle. With a friend offering him a day out spearfishing, Adam spent hours underwater, and realised it was his new paradise. Taking a freediving course in Bali, his journey was changed forever. Going on to become a professional freediver and a PADI certified instructor, Adam is now making waves in the diving community, sharing his underwater serenity with locals and tourists. The Pressure Project offers a wide range of freediving courses from the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, for anyone who’s ready to take the plunge.

When he’s not underwater, Adam is travelling the country presenting his seminars, exploring how to overcome pressure through the eyes of someone who dives beyond the pressures of life.
